Spare a thought for others on paths
I READ with interest the letter, "Pedestrians and cyclists can coexist" (My Paper, May 9).
I have seen pedestrians strolling along footpaths while plugged into their mobile devices, unaware that they are holding up joggers and cyclists.
I have also seen cyclists bent on weaving between pedestrians while ringing the bells on their bicycles incessantly, even when the path is crowded.
There can be coexistence only when all parties exercise common sense and courtesy.
It would be a sorry state of affairs if a campaign targeting footpath users was needed one day.
