Woman blocks Lot One carpark exit for 40 mins
IN AN extreme case of relentless persistence, a woman refused to move her car from the exit gantry of a mall for close to an hour, because her complimentary parking ticket had issues.
She finally budged after 40 minutes, after police told her they would have to arrest her if she did not.
The incident, which occurred at 9.30pm on Sunday at Choa Chu Kang mall Lot One, resulted in a line of cars stretching to Basement 2.
A photo of the fracas was posted on citizen-journalism website Stomp yesterday.
The Stomper who posted it said that mall staff and passers-by tried to convince the driver to budge, but to no avail. The police were eventually called in but, even then, she would not move.
"She held up every car in the mall... She refused to wind down her window, and did so only when a crowd formed outside her car," the Stomper said, adding that other drivers soon started yelling at her.
"The police finally arrived and asked her to move, but she refused. So they said if she did not comply, they would have to arrest her. That was when she finally budged."
