Want a selfie with Obama? Yes, you still can
AN OBAMA administration spokesman said it was only in jest that a top aide said President Barack Obama would stop doing "selfies".
The controversy arose from an April 1 appearance by the Boston Red Sox at the White House. As the event wrapped up, slugger David Ortiz asked Mr Obama to pose with him for a snapshot, then tweeted it. Samsung's United States unit, which has an endorsement deal with Ortiz, re-posted it.
Mr Obama "obviously didn't know anything about Samsung's connection to this", White House senior adviser Dan Pfeiffer said yesterday. "Maybe this will be the end of all selfies."
White House Press Secretary Jay Carney said yesterday that the remark was a joke and shouldn't be taken as a ban on selfies with the President.
