Sorry, review drew too many to stall
A LOCAL blog has apologised to a noodle stall for writing a positive review that went viral online, resulting in the stall attracting a deluge of customers daily.
TheSmartLocal.com had on Sunday posted a review of Kin Kin Chilli Pan Mee's stall in MacPherson Road.
It is a branch of the famed Kuala Lumpur stall, known for its noodles slathered in roasted chilli flakes and topped with a poached egg.
That post quickly spread online, at last count registering 6,400 shares on Facebook.
TheSmartLocal.com yesterday posted an apology on its website and Facebook page for writing the review, and begged Singaporeans to stay away from the shop for a month so that the hype could die down.
"Please do not visit Kin Kin Chilli Pan Mee for now. You will regret it," it said.
It had received feedback that the wait for the noodles, which used to be only 10 minutes, has now stretched up to two to three hours, with an "insane" queue.
The stallowners "were completely unprepared to accommodate the sudden influx of visitors - they still have only one chef who does all the cooking", said the site.
"We honestly just wanted to share a good find and did not expect soooo many people to share our review."
The post ended with the words: "I'M SORRY KIN KIN."
