Shutterbugs, pick up tips at free ClubSnap sessions
LOVE snapping photos of buildings and indoor locations but trying to figure out how to up your game?
You're in luck. Online photography forum ClubSnap is organising three free photography sessions at Funan DigitaLife Mall, starting tomorrow at 10am.
The sessions aim to teach you how to use your camera more effectively, as well as the basics of architecture and interior photography.
Some tips you can expect to pick up include how distortions in photos can be used to create unique perspectives, said Matthew Wong, a moderator of ClubSnap, who will be at the sessions.
Another piece of advice Mr Wong has for budding photographers is to keep things simple when shooting, instead of trying to squeeze as much as you can in a photo. "Show aspects of your subject," he said.
While photography equipment does matter when taking pictures, Mr Wong said there's a limit.
"At the end of the day, an image can be dark and out of focus but still have an interesting twist to it," he said. "A camera is like a brush - without a hand to guide it, a masterpiece cannot be made."
The photography sessions are organised together with Funan's #AllAboutFunan photography competition from now until Oct 31.
Some $15,000 worth of CapitaVouchers are up for grabs, with the top prize of $5,000 in vouchers.
To participate, take a photo that features Funan DigitaLife Mall. Then like the shopping centre's Facebook fan page and upload your photo with an interesting caption and the #AllAboutFunan hashtag.
Finally, e-mail your photo to email@example.com with your name, NRIC number, contact numbers and mailing address. Images must not exceed 10MB in size and must be taken between Oct 9 and 31. Up to three photos can be submitted.
