NSP's Nicole leaving to work in Thailand

OPPOSITION politician Nicole Seah will be moving to Thailand to further her career in advertising.

The 27-year-old announced the decision on her Facebook page on Tuesday night, calling it a difficult one.

But the move, she said, would also be good training for the challenges of political service.

"Thailand is a much larger country than Singapore, and the larger scale of work, managerial duties and budgets involved will be training for the challenges of public service," she wrote.

The senior account manager at advertising firm IPG Mediabrands vowed to return for the next election, widely expected to be called in 2016.

Ms Seah, who contested the 2011 General Election, also promised to return to Singapore regularly "to keep in touch with the ground", make house visits and work with volunteers on a tuition programme for low-income students.

She added that she will remain a member of the National Solidarity Party (NSP) and its Central Executive Committee.
