New pavilions, benches after Yuhua revamp
RESIDENTS of the Yuhua neighbourhood in Jurong can now enjoy a host of new and improved facilities, now that a $2 million neighbourhood upgrading project is complete.
Bicycle racks, pavilions for chit-chats and new street furniture, such as benches, are just some of the new amenities that the 35,000 residents of the area can enjoy at Yuhua Village - the neighbourhood centre located along Jurong East Street 24.
They were the result of a 15-month upgrading project that started in July last year.
Residents have been enjoying the new facilities since August.
The improvements were officially unveiled during a completion ceremony for the Remaking of Heartland neighbourhood upgrading project, held at the auspicious timing of 9.09am yesterday.
The event was organised in conjunction with outreach programme, Clean and Green Week @ Yuhua.
The latter hopes to encourage residents to do more for their community, with grassroots volunteers and residents planting trees and going around the hawker centre to promote table cleaning and tray return.
Minister for Culture, Community and Youth Grace Fu, who is also MP for the Yuhua SMC, was guest of honour at the event.
