Motorcyclist run over thrice in front of son
A 43-YEAR-OLD man fell from his motorcycle and was run over by several vehicles, all in plain view of his teenage son.
The 16-year-old and his father were on their way to Taiping when the accident happened, Metro Ahad reported.
Zainal Abidin Omar and his son Zikri Haziq Daniel, who was riding pillion, were going down a hilly part of the highway near Gua Tempurung when a car in front of them suddenly slowed down.
Mr Zainal lost control of his ride and hit the back of the sedan, causing him and his son to fall off the motorcycle.
Zikri fell clear of the road but Mr Zainal was not as lucky.
He was hit by an oncoming tanker, an express bus and a concrete truck.
Lorry driver Jasni Harris, who witnessed the accident, said he managed to stop in time.
"Other vehicles ran over the victim despite my efforts to signal them to stop. I even tried using a torch," Mr Jasni said.
The devastated teenager tried to save his father, but Mr Jasni pulled him away from the road.
Some vehicles ran into one another while trying to avoid Mr Zainal, and a police car was also hit by a motorcycle in the chaos.
