From hotel stay to 82-hour nightmare
A survivor of the earthquake in Nepal being stretchered away by a French rescue team yesterday, after being rescued from the wreckage of a Kathmandu hotel in which he had been trapped for 82 hours. Rishi Khanal, a Nepalese who had gone to the capital to fly to Dubai to work, was pinned under the debris when the quake struck on Saturday. The 28-year-old said he had to drink his own urine when he got thirsty. The death toll from the 7.8-magnitude earthquake had risen to more than 5,000 by last night.
