    ERP ups and downs

ELECTRONIC Road Pricing (ERP) rates will fall by as much as $2 across seven gantries and go up by $1 for four others from next month to May, said the Land Transport Authority (LTA) yesterday.

The most expensive ERP rates - $6 along the Marina Coastal Expressway (MCE) and East Coast Parkway (ECP) - will be reduced to $4 for travel between 8.30am and 9am.

The new prices will take effect from Feb 3.

The LTA said it will reduce ERP rates by $2 on the westbound MCE and ECP as traffic flow has improved on both expressways when the road-pricing system is in operation.

Rates will also be reduced on the eastbound routes.

But motorists will have to pay $1 more at four gantries on the southbound Central Expressway (CTE) after Braddell Road, and the slip road from the Pan Island Expressway into the southbound CTE.

The next ERP review will take place in May.

A full list of the revised ERP rates is on the LTA website.
