Central Depository moving to Buona Vista
THE Singapore Exchange Central Depository will move its customer service centre and operations to The Metropolis, a stone's throw from the Buona Vista MRT station, on April 14.
A sheltered link will connect the new centre to the station. Customers will have access to more self-help kiosks, and there will be a queuing system aimed at minimising waiting times.
SGX serves over 150,000 customers each month, of which 2 per cent - or an average of 3,000 per month - are served by the customer service centre. The rest of the customers are served through its call centre and online services.
"We offer the same counter services, and are expanding our self-help counters to help retail investors become more empowered in their investment management," said Ms Lynn Gaspar, head of retail investors at SGX.
Other SGX business units will also move to the Metropolis from March 28. Once completed, up to 70 per cent of SGX employees will operate from The Metropolis. The rest will remain at SGX Centre.
