Caesar salad turns into 'Scissors Salad' at dinner
FANCY "Scissors Salad" as an appetiser? This dish was listed on the menu for a Malaysian Parliament dinner on Monday and a photo of it has gone viral online.
But, in a humorous Facebook post, a Dewan Rakyat Deputy Speaker assured that no stationery was served to Parliament officers.
The officers, who run Malaysia's legislative body, had dined on Caesar salad, sans scissors, instead.
Member of Parliament Ronald Kiandee clarified yesterday: "I happened to attend the event and can confirm that there were no actual scissors in the salad, just a normal Caesar salad.
"This is an amusing mistake by the caterer but as an important institution, Parliament staff must be more careful so that such a mistake would not happen again," he added.
The image of the menu went viral on WhatsApp and other messaging applications this week.
Monday's dinner was between Parliament officers and Speaker of the House Pandikar Amin Mulia.
