Anwar open to being Selangor chief
OPPOSITION leader Anwar Ibrahim has conceded that he may replace Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim as chief minister of Selangor if he wins an upcoming by-election in the Malaysian state.
Datuk Seri Anwar told The Malay Mail Online in an interview that there will be a shake-up in the state administration, and "that option is on the table". Mr Khalid will remain in the state government in that event, he added.
He later emphasised that nothing has been confirmed with allies Democratic Action Party and Parti Islam Se-Malaysia.
Mr Anwar, who is also Permatang Pauh MP, is contesting in Kajang after former assemblyman Lee Chin Cheh resigned.
