1 worker killed, 3 injured in Yio Chu Kang industrial accident
A 24-YEAR-OLD construction worker from India died yesterday in an industrial accident at the Yio Chu Kang flyover.
The man was pronounced dead on the spot at about 11am by paramedics, said the Singapore Civil Defence Force.
Three other construction workers were taken to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital in critical condition, it added.
Two men, aged 30 and 34, are also from India, while the other worker, 25, is from Bangladesh.
Police said the three were conscious when conveyed to hospital.
The workers are believed to have been walking on a metal platform when it collapsed, causing them to fall from a height of about two floors.
The police are investigating the unnatural death.
