Love to take selfies? This smartphone is for you

HERE'S a new smartphone for those who take pride in taking perfect photos of themselves.

    The N1, by Chinese phone-maker Oppo, boasts a rotating 13MP camera and a 5.9-inch, 1080p full-HD display.

Oppo said on its website that, after "thousands of adjustments and tests", it came up with a phone camera that rotates 206 degrees, determined as the optimum range of motion for the lens.

A fast rotation of 120 degrees will automatically launch the camera in 0.6sec.

The N1 also features a rear-mounted touch panel for taking photos and for scrolling, making single-handed use easier - a necessary addition considering the size of the display, AFP Relaxnews reported.

The smartphone's dual LED flash and a "beautification algorithm" that automatically enhances both still and moving images will make a selfie-taker happy.

    The N1 - measuring 170.7 x 82.6 x 9mm and weighing 213g - runs on Android 4.2, has 2GM of RAM at its disposal, and comes with 16GB or 32GB of storage.

The smartphone is expected to cost 3,498 yuan (S$718) when it goes on sale in China next month.
