Experts share beauty shortcuts
IT WAS all fun and laughter at the My Paper Metropolitan Workshop last Saturday, where 120 readers learnt how to look fabulous fast.
They were treated to beauty tips from award-winning make-up artist Larry Yeo, celebrity hairstylist Greg-O and renowned dermatologist Tan Hiok Hee at the Singapore Press Holdings News Centre auditorium.
Mr Yeo demonstrated how fuss-free make-up could be applied in under 10 minutes, as well as how to transition from a day to night look without having to carry a lot of make-up.
"The make-up segment was excellent. Larry broke it down in steps which made it easier to understand," said a 30-year-old lawyer who wanted to be known only as Hui Fen.
Greg-O took the stage to give hair-styling tips and won the crowd over with his infectious personality. He demonstrated a quick updo on reader Larisa Nagra Singh and gave away hair-styling products to audience members.
Madam Singh also walked away with products worth over $100 and received a bottle of hair solution from the hairstylist.
"Each segment had their strong points...the finer aspects of hair and make-up that we don't know about were highlighted and brought out," said the 44-year- old vice-president of a global functional-resourcing team.
Dr Tan went through the five signs of skin ageing. Tips on an ideal diet were also shared, as well as how to clean your face properly.
"The programme looked good so I signed up...it was great that we were able to have a quick personal consultation with the speakers after their segments as well," said Hui Fen.
