World's best to headline HSBC women's tournament
GOLF'S top three women players and its biggest teen sensation will grace the HSBC Women's Champions at the Sentosa Golf Club next year.
South Korea's world No. 1 Park Inbee, as well as Suzann Pettersen of Norway and defending champion Stacy Lewis, will be the headline acts at the Feb 27-March 2 tournament.
Sixteen-year-old Lydia Ko will be an equally big draw. The New Zealander won her first professional event last week and is ranked fourth in the world.
She will be the youngest pro to play at the HSBC event, which carried a prize purse of US$1.4 million (S$1.8 million) this year.
But Park, who won the first three Majors of the year, will be the player to beat.
Said the Rolex Player of the Year: "I know I will have to get off to a strong start and play well at the HSBC Women's Champions if I am to stay at the top, especially with Suzann and Stacy playing so well and all the other great players in the field."
