Warriors rein in Blazers to go 2-0 up in s-final
KLAY Thompson scored 27 points as the Golden State Warriors staged a fourth-quarter fightback to defeat the Portland Trail Blazers 110-99 and take a 2-0 lead in their Western Conference semi-final series on Tuesday.
The reigning champions were caught cold in the first quarter after Portland raced into a double-digit lead, holding a 34-21 advantage heading into the second quarter.
But Golden State, missing the injured Stephen Curry, maintained their composure and chipped away at the Blazers before slowly reeling them in.
The fourth quarter was the decisive period when the Warriors outscored Portland by 34-12 to transform the contest at the Oracle Arena.
Game 3 in the best-of-seven series takes place in Portland on Saturday.
