    S. Korean Jang wins, sets new 19-under record

SOUTH Korean Jang Ha Na made it two wins in as many months after she captured the HSBC Women's Champions yesterday.

The world No. 10 fired a closing seven-under 65 for a winning total of 269 at the Sentosa Golf Club. Her 19-under score was also a tournament record at the Serapong Course.

She finished four strokes ahead of Thailand's Pornanong Phatlum (68 and 273) at the US$1.5 million (S$2.06 million) tournament.

Jang's victory earned her the top prize of US$225,000.

She had won her maiden LPGA Tour title last month at the Coates Golf Championship.

World No. 1 Lydia Ko signed for a 69 and 281 and finished joint-15th, ahead of defending champion and second ranked Park In Bee (69 and 285), who was tied-30.

Singapore's Koh Sock Hwee ended the Republic's unwanted record of finishing last at all eight previous HSBC events.

Koh shot 75 and 298 total and was tied-59th in the 62-women field.

Next year's 10th edition could also see a new home, with talk of the tournament shifting across the road to the new Tanjong Course that is currently undergoing a $32 million redevelopment.
