Running to Singapore's 1st 200m gold in decades
Sprinter Shanti Pereira on her way to the SEA Games women's 200m gold yesterday, the first Singaporean to win the event since Glory Barnabas in 1973. Hers was the second track and field gold for the hosts on the day, after Zhang Guirong claimed her sixth consecutive shot put title. Team Singapore still lead the medal table with 60 golds, 12 ahead of second-placed Vietnam. Thailand are third on 45. The Games end on Tuesday.
