You don't have to leave home for a UK degree

THE idea of studying overseas is an attractive one to many in Singapore, but a major drawback is the high costs that come with the distance.

University fees, housing and other miscellaneous costs for a three-year degree programme can burn a hole in one's pocket easily.

However, students looking for an international university experience can consider TEG International College.

Through TEG's academic partnerships with various well-recognised British universities - including the University of Sunderland, Glyndwr University and York St John University - students can pursue a foreign curriculum without having to travel thousands of miles.

For those interested in furthering their studies in engineering, University of Sunderland offers top-up bachelor's degrees with honours in mechanical engineering, as well as electronic and electrical engineering.

To meet the growing needs of working individuals who decide to further their education for career advancement, Glyndwr University provides master's programmes in business administration, accounting and finance, as well as IT management.

Besides engineering and business degrees, York St John University offers a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in international tourism and hospitality management.

The curriculum structure and study resources - including lecture notes and textbooks - are identical to those used in the main Britain campuses of the universities that TEG ties up with.

Representatives from the British universities visit the TEG Singapore campus regularly to meet both the students and faculty.

TEG International College was built here in 1991 and is located in the heart of Bugis, with easy access to the National Library and historical places of interest, which can further students' learning experiences.

On campus, students have access to state-of-the-art facilities, including an electronic laboratory and a video conferencing room.
