Sharp suits make the cut for this Swanky Gent

THE K by Kevin Seah label is known for its made-to-measure sharp suits, and its brand manager sure is the guy to be pushing the brand.

Mr Leicester cuts a dapper figure, and always makes sure to never compromise quality for price.

"I steer clear of mass-produced pieces. As (the brands that make such pieces) are profit-driven, the production is not in the details. Labels such as Paul Smith and Undercover, a brand from Japan, are both impeccable in quality and design."

Mr Leicester is a smart and savvy shopper - since he gets his clothes settled at K by Kevin Seah and Crawford & Sons, he shops at online sites, such as Mr Porter, for small accessories. One brand that he is particularly interested in is Borsalino, an Italian hat brand.

Come this Great Singapore Sale (GSS), he will be looking out for markdowns from his favourite brands from retailers in town.

Sometimes, he isn't thinking of himself. "I buy branded womenswear pieces, like shoes, for my fiancee," he said.

His best sale buy last year, though, was a piece for himself.

He managed to find a Brooks Brothers tie at a 20 per cent discount - just $129 - during the brand's sale at its Knightsbridge outlet.

"The colours are unique and the construction is impeccable," he enthused.

He has plans to add accessories - unique ones that accentuate his style - to his wardrobe this GSS.

When asked about the essentials that he thinks every man should own, he picked a white shirt, a navy-blue jacket and a pair of dress shoes as absolute musts.

Asked about his icon, he said: "Lino Ieluzzi, the owner of Al Bazar, a menswear store in Milan.

"He dresses with flair and his style has sprezzatura, which means 'studied nonchalance' in Italian. He can pull off anything without trying too hard."
