New retail haven set to spice up Malacca
UNDER three hours away by car, Malacca is a popular vacation destination for Singaporeans looking for a short getaway.
Soon, there will be another reason to visit the city - Terminal Pahlawan, located in Jalan Merdeka.
To be completed by the end of this year, Terminal Pahlawan is an extension of Hatten Square, a mixed development of retail and hospitality outlets in the city.
The new mall is designed as a tourist-centric retail hub, and is being developed by Malaysia-based property developer Hatten Group.
It will have 200 retail units spanning 100,000 sq ft, with a mix of fashion, food and lifestyle offerings.
Besides shopping, visitors can check out the Peranakan boutique hotel, Estadia by Hatten. The 200- room hotel is located just above the shopping podium of Terminal Pahlawan.
The hotel will have a swimming pool and lounge area, as well as a Chinese restaurant selling Peranakan dishes.
Investors can look forward to a guaranteed 15 per cent rental return for the first two years.
When completed, Terminal Pahlawan will house 30 coach bays for tourist buses.
It will be the only coach terminal in the city centre, so tourists can conveniently eat and shop when they take a coach to Malacca.
It is within walking distance of popular tourist locations such as St Paul's Hill, Jonker Walk and the A Famosa fort.
So far, 80 per cent of the retail units at Terminal Pahlawan have been snapped up.
Those who are interested in business opportunities can consider investing in a unit. Leasing opportunities are also open.
