Keen on marathons? Visit South Korea

SOUTH Korea is known as the land of kimchi, K-pop and dramas, but not so much for running. Change that perception by touring with Dynasty Travel and participating in marathons held on Jeju Island or in Chuncheon city.

For runners who fancy running on Jeju Island, choose the Jeju International Mandarin Marathon tour, which lasts eight days and six nights.

The race will be held on Nov 16 and boasts several categories - full and half marathon, 10km and 5km.

Another option would be the Chosunilbo Chuncheon Marathon, to be held on Oct 26 along the waterfront. The run comes in full marathon and 10km formats.

You can choose from tours lasting either seven days and five nights, or eight days and six nights.

Friends and family of runners are welcome to join the tours, which include activities like shopping in Seoul's famous Myeongdong and Sinchon areas or taking part in a skin-care course.

Prices for the tour packages start from $1,238 a person.

There will a waiver of the marathons' registration fee.

In addition, a gala dinner will included in the tour package.

The winner of the lucky draw conducted during the dinner will receive Asiana Airlines tickets to any Asiana Airlines flight destination.
