HK steamboat with satay twist
STEAMBOAT is definitely on the list of comfort foods for many people.
Fans of the meal can check out Tian Fu Hong Kong Steamboat Restaurant when they are in the Tanjong Katong area.
Set up in 2002, the restaurant offers diners a taste of authentic Hong Kong-style steamboat recipes.
Foodies can choose soup bases from a variety including the lobster premium soup, house special satay soup, as well as dry scallop soup.
The satay soup is made from over 10 spices and has a tinge of saltiness, rather than the conventional sweet peanut taste of local satay dips. This unique satay broth is the most popular soup selection among diners.
The restaurant also offers other soup flavours popular with Singaporeans, such as tom yam and fish head.
Diners have a wide range of food items to choose from at Tian Fu. They include its signature four-treasure balls, which are made of beef, pork, cuttlefish and prawn, as well as prawn dumplings and fish paste noodles.
Meat lovers can also look forward to selections of premium meat like Australian Wagyu beef and Kurobuta pork imported from the United States.
For seafood lovers, the restaurant's offerings include fresh pomfret and garoupa, live prawns and fresh squid.
For those who prefer cooked dishes, there are zi char (Chinese home-style dishes) options too. The restaurant also offers local delights such as prawn paste chicken, coffee pork ribs and crispy cereal prawn.
