Explore Mandalay, Asia's last frontier
FEEL like exploring the "last frontier of Asia"? Head over to Mandalay in Myanmar with SilkAir.
Mandalay is SilkAir's second destination in Myanmar, after Yangon.
The second-largest city in Myanmar and Burma's last royal capital, the city offers a range of activities for everyone, from visiting beautiful monastries and temples, to caving and rock climbing.
Soak in Myanmar's culture and history by visiting Mandalay Hill, a 230m-high hill with exquisite monasteries, pagodas and temples. Enjoy spectacular views of Mandalay and the surrounding plains.
No visit to Mandalay is complete without a trip to Bagan, one of the world's greatest archaeological sights. It is home to the largest and densest concentration of Buddhist temples, pagodas, stupas and ruins in the world, with many dating from the 11th and 12th centuries.
You can even enjoy an aerial view of the temples by taking a ride in a hot-air balloon.
Feeling adventurous? Go caving and rock climbing in a pristine natural environment at Waterfall Hill, located on the east side of Mandalay, not far from the city. For a challenge, try climbing the stone staircases hewn into the towering cliff walls.
From June 10, SilkAir will fly thrice weekly between Mandalay and Singapore, via a circular routing stop in Yangon.
