We can read each other's minds with one look

Twin sisters Hayley and Jayley Woo took the same path to stardom - making the leap from being popular bloggers to actresses.

The 21-year-old pretty lasses make good use of their chemistry by playing themselves in local film That Girl In Pinafore - their first on-screen collaboration.

My Paper sits down with the twins to talk about their blogs and their showbiz career.

    Why did you start blogging?

Jayley: Back in secondary school, I didn't have many friends because I was the teacher's pet. I was the class vice-chairman; sometimes, I had to report classmates who skipped class.

They didn't want to talk to me, so I decided to talk to myself (on my blog).

Hayley: I was indirectly affected because I was in the same class as my sister. I felt I needed an outlet (for my feelings) too.

What's a role you hope to play?

Jayley: I want to play a girl who is surrounded by handsome guys; the female lead in idol dramas like Meteor Garden and Hana Kimi.

Though I have short hair and people might not think I'm suitable for such (girly) roles, that's my wish.

Hayley: I've had the chance to play such a role in a Malaysian idol drama, Dive Into Love.

My ideal role is to play a princess, like the role South Korean actress Kim Tae Hee plays in the romantic comedy My Princess.

What's the secret to your on- and off-screen chemistry?

Jayley: It's two girls who have been living together for 21 years (in the same bedroom in a three-room Housing Board flat).

Hayley: Most of the time, we don't have to speak. Just by one look, we know what's on each other's mind.

What's next for the two of you?

Jayley: I'm hosting a lifestyle programme called Style: Check-In.

You can also catch me on local drama The Dream Makers. I'm thrilled to be acting with so many showbiz veterans.

Next, I'll be starring with Ah Jie (actress Zoe Tay) in Eric Khoo's tele-movie, The Recipe, which explores the issue of dementia.

Hayley: I've signed with production house mm2 Entertainment for two years. I hope to work in three areas - hosting, singing and acting.
