Smiths go gaga for Cyrus - in a bad way
JUSTIN Timberlake won big on Sunday at MTV's annual Video Music Awards (VMAs), taking home the top prize for video of the year for Mirrors and a special achievement honour. He also led a much-anticipated onstage reunion of boyband 'N Sync.
But, today, what pundits are still talking about are the outfits that Lady Gaga and Miley Cyrus chose to wear.
Gaga opened the show with her new single Applause, appearing in a series of outfits ranging from a nun's habit to a seashell-and-string bikini.
Even if they lacked the shock value of her past VMAs outfits (remember her dress made of raw meat?), one couldn't help but admire that barely-there bottom.
But it was Cyrus who stole the show. She took to the stage in a bodysuit with a cheeky-looking bear on it for a performance of her hit, We Can't Stop.
She then stripped down to a pair of nude PVC hot pants and a boob tube.
When Robin Thicke joined her to perform his song Blurred Lines, she danced with the singer, gyrating in a manner that would give cause for a pole dancer's eyes to pop out.
Celebrities like Will Smith and wife Jada Pinkett-Smith, whose children - Jayden, 15, and Willow, 12 - were seated with them, were pictured reacting in shock.
