City Of Bones star is world's hottest man
TAIWAN-BORN supermodel-turned-actor Godfrey Gao, a well-known face in Asia, is making his Hollywood debut as an 800-year-old immortal in The Mortal Instruments: City Of Bones.
The 28-year-old Vancouver-based heart-throb plays the enigmatic Magnus Bane, a character in the popular fantasy series by Cassandra Clare.
Set in modern-day New York, the movie revolves around a teenager (Lily Collins) who finds out that she is descended from a line of Shadowhunters, half-angel warriors who protect the world from demons.
Bane, one of the most alluring characters in the novels, is a bisexual, party-loving warlock who has yellow cat eyes, piercings, tattoos and wears make-up.
Immortalising this devious character was no walk in the park for Gao. In an interview with CCTV News, the SK-II ambassador said he was "very stressed out" as it was his first English feature film.
Gao also faced criticism from fans who reportedly had been up in arms when he was selected to play Bane.
However, Clare spoke out in his defence, calling him the "hottest man in the world".
Well, fans of Gao would be happy to know that he is likely to return as Bane in subsequent instalments of The Mortal Instruments, as the character plays a much bigger role later on.
The Mortal Instruments: City Of Bones opens in cinemas tomorrow.
