15 S'poreans picked for China reality singing show

A GROUP of Singaporean contestants will be heading to China to participate in the second season of reality singing contest The Voice Of China.

According to reports, singers Ming Bridges, Tay Kexin and Tay Kewei are among the 15 "voices" who made it to the final list.

Singapore's mm2 Entertainment, the official authorised partner assigned by the Chinese producers of the show, collaborated with StarHub to call for auditions last month.

Registrations closed on May 19. According to mm2 Entertainment's spokesman, only 200 demos were received, despite overwhelming response.

Selected participants were called for a closed-door audition and finalists will be announced in the next few weeks by Canxing Production, one of the programme producers of The Voice Of China.

The reality talent show, which takes its format from The Voice Of Holland, premiered in July last year. The judges in the show include Taiwanese singer Harlem Yu, and Chinese singers Na Ying, Liu Huan and Yang Kun.

Chinese pop-rock singer Liang Bo, 21, was selected as the winner during last season's finale, which aired on Sept 30.
