Buy at fashion website, collect items at 7-Eleven

ONLINE shopping just got way easier, especially for the time-strapped working professional.

Regional online fashion retailer Zalora has partnered 7-Eleven for a pilot project which will see Zalora customers collecting their buys from 7-Eleven outlets.

To try out the service, all customers need to do is select "7-Eleven" as their payment option on the checkout page.

They can choose their preferred outlet from 19 7-Eleven stores, such as those in malls like VivoCity and 313@somerset, and MRT stations such as those at Bedok, Boon Lay or Boon Keng.

An SMS notification will be sent to customers once their order is ready for collection. They can then pick up their buys within 48 hours, and pay for their purchases in cash at that 7-Eleven outlet.

Zalora said that with the accessibility and long opening hours of 7-Eleven stores, this option would benefit shoppers who are at work during the day and who don't have anyone at home to help them accept deliveries.

"This is an exciting step for us as it can help those still apprehensive about online shopping get over that initial barrier," said Ms Amanda Eng, Zalora Singapore's marketing director.

"We hope this collaboration can help us grow the market by increasing consumer confidence in e-commerce efficiencies."

A spokesman for 7-Eleven said it is considering expanding this option to all 570 stores islandwide if the pilot goes well.
