TECH billionaire Elon Musk has previously called the Hyperloop a cross between a "Concorde, a rail gun and an air-hockey table".
Capsules would be catapulted through a large, nearly air-free tube elevated on columns. The pods inside the tubes would be mounted on thin skis that shoot air out of tiny holes at their base, like those on an air-hockey table.
"It would have less lateral acceleration - which is what tends to make people feel motion-sick - than a subway ride, as the pod banks against the tube, like an airplane," he told Bloomberg Business Week.
"Unlike an airplane, it is not subjected to turbulence, so there are no sudden movements. It would feel super-smooth."
