    Singapore update

WHEN it comes to shopping online, fashion-related items are tops for Generation Y. A survey of 1,150 people born between 1985 and 1995 in Singapore found that four of such items make up the top five things they buy frequently online.

Some 47 per cent of the Gen Y respondents also said they would buy something they like immediately. The survey was done by brand consultancy Brand Alliance in February and March.

SHANMUGAM SEEKS CLOSER ARCTIC TIES ON CANADA VISIT MR K. Shanmugam, Minister for Foreign Affairs and Law, met Canadian Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird on Wednesday on his first official visit to Canada.

CORRECTION OUR report last Friday, "Whimsical wear for mums-to-be", wrongly named Ms Kay Wong as the creative director of local maternity-wear label Milky Way, when she is the founder.

The report also stated wrongly that proceeds of Milky Way's sales would go to social enterprise group Mother and Child - which provides home-based sewing work for disadvantaged mothers - when the group would receive only part of the sales proceeds from the official launch.

We are sorry for the errors.
