Respiratory illness hits over 10,000 in hazy Riau

The haze that has been engulfing Riau, Indonesia, for the past few weeks may have started to fade, but the region's problems are not over yet as the disaster has left an estimated 10,380 people suffering from acute respiratory infection. About half of them are children aged under five. The number is expected to rise as it covers only eight of the 12 regencies and cities across Riau.
