Opposition leaders 'banned' from Sabah
MALAYSIA'S opposition said yesterday that its top leaders have been banned from Sabah, and decried the move as illegal.
It said those blacklisted by the state of Sabah include its leader, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, who has led a series of public rallies around the country to protest against the results of the May 5 election.
A letter - purportedly from the Sabah Chief Minister's Department to the state immigration director - also banned the entry of opposition veteran Lim Kit Siang, Parti Keadilan Rakyat strategic director Rafizi Ramli, Mr Anwar's parliamentarian daughter, Ms Nurul Izzah Anwar, and Bersih chairman Ambiga Sreenevasan.
The issue came to light last week when Ms Nurul Izzah was prevented from entering Sabah.
