Ex-ST reporter charged over underage sex
A 29-YEAR-OLD former reporter was yesterday charged with three counts of having sex with a 15-year-old girl.
The former Singapore Press Holdings local scholarship holder, whose name cannot be published to protect the identity of the minor, is alleged to have had oral sex twice with her and sexual intercourse once.
The first incident allegedly occurred between November and December 2011, when he is accused of getting her to perform oral sex at his parents' house off Upper Paya Lebar Road.
He allegedly committed a similar offence with the minor in a male toilet cubicle at Fort Canning Park some time in the early months of last year. The third charge accuses him of having sex with the girl at a flat in Serangoon Avenue 1 on June 23 last year.
The accused, who previously attended Raffles Junior College and the National University of Singapore, joined The Straits Times in 2009. He had his employment terminated on Jan 18 this year.
