LG pulls apocalyptic prank with UHD TV

SOUTH Korean tech company LG has come up with a brilliant idea to show off its ultra-high-definition (UHD) TV-set range.

In a video clip titled "Ultra Reality: What would you do in this situation?", job applicants in Chile attended an interview for their dream job.

Just when they thought everything was going well, they heard a noise, glanced out of a huge window behind the interviewer and saw a meteor streaking through the sky, AFP Relaxnews reported.

The candidates jumped out of their seat as the meteor, which turned into a fireball, hit the city. Some of the applicants rushed for the door, while others swore like it really was the end of the world.

Alas, the job interview turned out to be a prank by LG, which had swopped a window in the office with a UHD TV set, said AFP Relaxnews.

The job applicants' reactions were filmed by hidden cameras.

The video - com/watch?v=ynvKWYvyCqw& - has gone viral after the company posted it on YouTube last week. It was watched more than 7.4 million times as of yesterday.

The clip is the latest in a series of pranks by LG which were captured on video in recent months, in its effort to promote its range of UHD TV sets.
