Inuka gets clean bill of health:
Singapore Zoo's 22-year-old polar bear, Inuka, had a medical check-up under general anaesthesia last month. Vets at the zoo found warts under its tongue, some teeth that needed to be fixed, and mild arthritis on an ankle and a wrist. Otherwise, the male bear was found to be in good health for its age. Within two days of the check-up, the first polar bear to be born in the tropics was back to basking in its ice cave.
