'Dou Dou' to meet fans for charity

HE FIRST rose to fame last year as the titular star of local movie My Dog Dou Dou.

On Thursday, the canine actor known in real life as Flapper will meet his fans for a good cause.

The lovable golden labrador, which won audiences over with his onscreen intelligence and loyalty, will pose for instant photographs with his fans, and sign them with his paw.

The photos will cost $30 per adult and $15 per child. A soft copy of each photo will be given too. Profits will go to The Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund.

The fund is a community project initiated by The Straits Times to provide pocket money to children from low-income families for school-related expenses.

Apart from the photos, money will also be raised through the sale of limited-edition posters featuring the seven-year-old dog, at $35 apiece.

Organisers hope to raise between $3,000 and $5,000 from the two-hour event, which will be held from 8pm at The Factory, a cafe at 22 Lim Tua Tow Road.

    Admission is free of charge.
