Winter Sonata's Bae dating beauty 14 years his junior
SOUTH Korean actor Bae Yong Joon is in a romantic relationship with a woman 14 years younger than him, Yonhap news agency reported yesterday.
The news came after a Japanese daily reported that the 41-year-old celebrity is in a serious relationship with the 27-year-old beauty from a South Korean family that controls a business conglomerate.
"Bae has been dating the woman for the past three months," his management company, KeyEast, said in a press release.
The Japanese report in Nikkan Sports said: "According to acquaintances of the two, Bae's woman is the daughter of a well-known businessman in Korea, and stands at 1.7m tall. She spent many years in America, and now resides in Korea. She is fluent in English and has a bubbly personality."
The bespectacled star is very popular in Japan, where his fans call him "Yonsama".
The agency, however, did not disclose further details about the woman, saying only that she is not a celebrity.
Bae, who gained huge popularity across Asia for his role in the hit 2002 drama series Winter Sonata, is ranked among the richest South Korean stars, as he is the major shareholder of KeyEast.
The actor previously dated a South Korean female movie director, Lee Sa Gang, but the couple broke up in 2004.
