    Win tickets to workshops on preparing Japan cuisine

    LOVERS of Japanese cuisine can soon learn from chefs how to prepare their favourite dishes from the Land of the Rising Sun.

    Eight Japanese restaurant chefs will be teaching food lovers how to prepare their signature Japanese-inspired dishes at The Art of Japanese Cuisine Workshops from May 9 to 10.

    On May 10, chef Ryosuke Harada from Sushi Mitsuya will teach attendees how to prepare umaki, a Japanese eel rolled-omelette dish, in his hour-long workshop.

    Those who like tender beef and vegetables prepared sukiyaki style can take a leaf out of Takumi chef Kenji Okumura's book.

    Lovers of the scattered sushi dish called chirashi sushi can look out for the session by chef Norihito Saji from Syun.

    All the workshops will be held at ToTT Cooking Studio in Dunearn Road, and are part of the Gourmet Japan food festival.

    Organised by Sphere Exhibits, a subsidiary of Singapore Press Holdings, the food festival kicked off on April 21 and will run until May 31.

    Tickets to various events during the festival, including the workshops, can be bought at JCB credit cardholders get 20 per cent off all ticketed events.
