Win a bedroom makeover worth $12,000 in My Paper contest
IS YOUR bedroom feeling dreary lately?
A fresh coat of paint could add zing to a bedroom, with shades of brown and grey working best for a basic contemporary look, said Shelly Chan, marketing manager at Nippon Paint Singapore.
What colour to pick for a bedroom depends on the type of mood you are looking for, she told My Paper.
Shades of purple, red or pink are good for a romantic feel while blue-green shades create a beach-resort look.
"When deciding on the colour to paint your bedroom, do consider key elements in your room such as the furniture, flooring and carpeting as well," she noted.
For example, to showcase a favourite colourful artwork, use solid pastel colours.
Or try having a feature wall, which is a single wall in the room with wallpaper, artwork or eye-catching paint, to create an illusion that the room is big.
To help things along, My Paper is giving away a bedroom makeover worth $12,000.
Sponsors Artisan Space, Nippon Paint and Pegus will provide interior design expertise, painting services and flooring respectively.
To take part, send an e-mail to email@example.com and tell us why you wish to have a makeover for your bedroom in fewer than 50 words.
