Win a $12k bathroom makeover
DO YOU have a small bathroom with large tiles, high-powered shower systems that your home's water pressure cannot support, or a washroom floor that has no slope at all?
These are some common bathroom design mistakes, said Victor Phuah, sales manager at tile supplier Lian Seng Hin.
Another no-no is coloured fixtures, such as a black toilet bowl, which will be hard to get a replacement seat cover for, said Benjamin Tay, director of operations at bathroom accessories retailer Bathroom Warehouse. "Coloured wares are a fad and they become outdated fairly quickly," he added.
For those with small bathrooms, Mr Phuah had this tip to offer: "Placing a mural on one side of the wall helps to draw attention to it, instead of focusing on the small space."
Another way to freshen up the look of your bathroom is to give the ceiling a fresh coat of white paint, said interior design firm Artisan Space's managing director, Christopher Lee.
But you may not have to revamp your bathroom yourself, as My Paper is giving away a $12,000 bathroom makeover package to one lucky reader.
The contest, which is open to all home types, is sponsored by Artisan Space, Bathroom Warehouse and Lian Seng Hin.
To take part, send an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org and tell us why you wish to have a makeover for your bathroom, in fewer than 50 words.
Attach a jpeg image of your current bathroom (not exceeding 2MB) along with your name, NRIC and contact numbers and residential address.
Entries should be in by April 7. The winner will be notified by e-mail.
