Travolta out for revenge in violent 'geriaction' flick
I AM WRATH (NC16)
Action/91 minutes/Opens today
IT SAYS a lot about your career when your latest film goes straight to DVD in the United States.
But the consolation is that veteran actors can now fall into the growing "geriaction" genre.
John Travolta plays Stanley Hill, whose beloved wife (Rebecca de Mornay) is murdered by gangsters. When the police let the bad guys off the hook, the enraged Stanley takes matters into his own hands and doles out his brand of punishment.
Travolta has done some over-the-top action flicks before, such as The Taking Of Pelham 1 2 3 (2009) and From Paris With Love (2010), but at least those had some element of suspense and fun.
In I Am Wrath, he takes the title literally, giving us a serious yet recycled story filled with unnecessary violence.
