Tony Roma's celebrates 22 years with Feast
IT'S been 22 years since the first Tony Roma's outlet opened in Singapore in November 1992, marking the American family restaurant chain's entry into the South-east Asian market.
Fans of the Orchard Hotel Shopping Arcade branch will be pleased to know that it has returned at a new location in Orchard Central.
The Suntec City branch also reopened for business with completely new decor in January last year, after mall renovations in 2012.
In celebration of Tony Roma's Orchard's 22nd anniversary, America's favourite rib house is launching an Anniversary Feast that comes with a jug of soft drink and a mini chocolate cookie for only $68++ (a $22 discount from the usual price of $90++).
Each feast, which is ideal for two people, comes with a half slab of meaty Carolina Honeys Ribs, grilled sausage, fire-grilled pork chops and Alfredo pasta served with corn on the cob and a salad mix.
The meat on the ribs is tender and practically falls off the bone, while the sausage and pork chops are firm and smoky.
Sauce-wise, you may replace Carolina Honeys with Red Hots, Bourbon BBQ or Original BBQ upon request.
The pasta is served al dente, while the salad, which comes with sun-dried tomatoes, is crisp and fresh.
The mini chocolate cookie is a scoop of vanilla ice cream sandwiched between two chocolate-chip cookies and drizzled with chocolate fudge.
As for the jug of soft drink, diners can choose between Coke, Sprite and iced lemon tea.
If you'd like an appetiser before the feast, try Tony Roma's signature crispy onion-ring loaf. Each loaf takes 24 hours to make and is chilled overnight to get that amazing crunch, and tastes fantastic with the accompanying sweet barbecue sauce.
The rich and creamy baked-potato soup - topped with Cheddar cheese, bacon and green onions - is equally irresistible.
Tony Roma's at Orchard Central offers seven new Executive Set Lunches that are big on value and easy on your pocket. From just $16.90++, you can enjoy a main course with a bowl of soup and a glass of soft drink.
I tried the roasted chicken leg, which is oven baked and mixed with Italian herbs, served with Cabernet Sauvignon mushroom sauce.
Finish your meal with a Strawberry Romarita, which comes either frozen or on the rocks. The drink is a concoction of Tequila, Cointreau, strawberry puree and the restaurant's Margarita mix.
I had the frozen version, which is blended with crushed ice. It's a sweet and refreshing end to a great dining experience.
The Executive Set Lunches are served from Mondays to Fridays (except public holidays), from 11.30am to 3pm.
The Anniversary Feast offer is redeemable from Monday to Nov 30 at both Tony Roma's restaurants in Singapore with the cut-out coupon from Tony Roma's ad in My Paper on Monday.
