PLAZA Singapura will hold a carnival to celebrate the mall's 40th anniversary this year.

The carnival, entitled "PS 40: shaping our memories", will feature booths for snacks and old-school games, as well as a display of three Vespa scooters.

With 10 booths for games, visitors can enjoy old-school games such as chapteh, pick-up sticks, five stones and zero point.

The carnival will run for three weeks, from June 5, at the mall's main atrium on Level 1.

Besides the snacks and games, there will be prizes. The first 400 shoppers to complete the games will each get a games set, which includes chapteh, mini gasing (spin-top) and marbles.

Visitors can also win CapitaVouchers worth between $100 and $400 on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from June 20 to July 6 (four winners will be picked every hour for four hours each day during the three weekends.)

Plaza Singapura's general manager, Melissa Ang, said that the the carnival would help young people "get a glimpse of their parents' growing-up years" and help families bond.

Shoppers who have photos of Plaza Singapura taken between 1974 and 1994 can win prizes by entering a contest. Five winners will each get $1,000 worth of shopping vouchers. Captioned photos should be submitted along with personal details by 9pm on June 29 at the mall's customer service counter at Level 4, or e-mailed to
