To stay or go?
UNDER happy? Undecided?
Here are three strategies to consider while you contemplate leaving your job:
SET AN EXPIRATION DATE
You may need to stay in a mundane job for the benefits, so decide how long you should stay, stick to that timeline, and then leave.
If you wait too long, you may find yourself becoming irrelevant or made redundant, losing the very things (like pay and flexibility) that you were holding on to.
SEEK OUT MORE CHALLENGES IN YOUR CURRENT ROLE
While you may not be in a position to take a new job, you can always ask for more challenging work that will stretch you professionally and could create an opportunity elsewhere.
FIND ANOTHER SOURCE FOR MEANINGFUL CHALLENGES
Find non-work sources, such as volunteer work, that provide more flexible options for mental stimulation.
You can parlay the learning back to your work life.
