Sony's 4k Xperia Z5 phone retails in Nov

SONY announced on Wednesday the availability and pricing of its new Z5 smartphone line-up in Singapore, including the Z5 Premium which has a super sharp screen.

The flagship Sony Xperia Z5 will retail at $998, while the Sony Xperia Z5 Compact will go for $828. The Sony Xperia Z5 Premium has an asking price of $1,098.

The Xperia Z5 and Z5 Compact will be available next month, while the Z5 Premium will be available in November this year.

While the pricing is not exactly very different among the three phones, each of the Z5 phones has its own unique features.

For instance, the Xperia Z5 Compact is the smallest phone of the three, with a 4.6-inch HD (720p) display.

If you are pixel-minded, the Xperia Z5 Premium is the smartphone you would prefer, with a 5.5-inch ultra high resolution 4K (2,160p) display, plus the ability to upscale all video and image media content to 4K resolution.

The standard flagship Sony Xperia Z5 sports a 5.2-inch full HD (1080p) display.

All three phones will have 32GB of internal storage, with the option to expand it externally via microSD cards of up to 200GB in capacity.

The Z5 line's new rear camera module has a 23MP sensor, while the front-facing camera has a 5.1MP sensor.

Xperia's definitive feature - IP68 water and dust resistance - is also on all three smartphones.

The Z5 line-up runs on a Snapdragon 810 chip, with an Android 5.1 (Lollipop) operating system. They are all single SIM smartphones, utilising nano SIM cards.
