    CHECK out these new eateries:

The Owl Cafe, which opened its first outlet at Star Vista last year, is opening two more - one at Republic Plaza and the other at Bedok Point - tomorrow.

The cafe is coffee company Owl International's first foray into Singapore's dining scene.

Specialising in Straits Asian food, its specialities include assam chicken wings, laksa spaghetti with tiger prawns and durian pengat.

New additions to its menu include local fare such as herbal soups, to be served with pumpkin lotus rice, and seafood fish noodles.

The cafe is open from 10am to 10pm daily.

For your next picnic at West Coast Park, head to Take-Out at 12 Clementi Road to fill your basket with pasta, sandwiches and dessert.

The eatery also offers daily bakes of cookies, cupcakes and macarons, as well as ice cream-filled cookie sandwiches from The Ice Cream & Cookie Co.

    It is closed on Sundays.

In the heartland of Bukit Merah Central is The Bakery Chef, which offers high-end cakes such as Chocolate Guanaja ($5.80), a semi-dark chocolate mousse cake made with Valrhona chocolate. Other offerings include Salted Caramel Surprise ($5.80), a domed cake of vanilla and chocolate sponge with a caramel-mousse centre, coated with caramel.

Located at Block 161, Bukit Merah Central, 01-3711, it is open from 10am to 7pm, Tuesdays to Thursdays, and from 10am to 9pm from Fridays to Mondays.

Get a taste of Alpine cuisine at Zott's in Amoy Street when the restaurant opens on Friday.

Menu highlights include Bondage Chicken, roast chicken served on a metal rod with a choice of truffle mayonnaise or sour cream; and Kaiserschmarrn, a shredded and caramelised pancake paired with pan-fried foie gras and pineapple goose-liver ice cream.

Zott's is located at 97 Amoy Street.
