CONVENIENT: The N3's 16MP camera swivels at a flick of the screen. This means the camera is the highest-resolution front-facing one now.

CHINESE phone-maker Oppo has taken the swivelling camera feature from last year's N1 smartphone a step further in its latest flagship handset, the N3.

Unveiled on Wednesday, the 5.5-inch N3 phone boasts a 16MP, f/2.2 swivelling camera that rotates at a flick of the screen.

This gives the N3 the highest-resolution front-facing camera on the market today.

The automatic swivel function will also come in handy for those who enjoy taking panoramic shots as you will no longer need to pan the camera yourself: Just hold the phone and turn the panorama mode on, and the camera will rotate to capture the entire scene.

Specification-wise, the N3 is comparable to other flagship devices, boasting a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 2.3GHz processor, 2GB RAM and 32GB internal storage.

The N3 is fitted with a 5.5-inch full high-definition in-plane switching display, and will be armed with a 3,000mAh battery.

One of the other features Oppo has included on the N3 is its Vooc rapid charging technology, which Oppo claims will charge the phone from zero to 75 per cent in just 30 minutes.

The N3 will sell for US$649 (S$830). Availability and local pricing are unavailable at this time.
